I have a handmade oil lamp that I bought in the mountains of North Carolina, and while it runs great on paraffin oil, I’d love to see how well it works using vegetable oil. Are there any vegetable oils that burn better than others? Thanks!

Vegetable oils aren’t really the best things to use in a lamp that is designed for paraffin oil. Most vegetable oils are too heavy to burn well and will tend to smoke.
If you just really want to try it, I would suggest you purchase an extra wick that you will use only for experimenting. Otherwise, you will ruin the wick it came with by contaminating it with a heavy oil.
That being said, you might try olive oil. It has a relatively low smoke point so it should burn a little easier.

Someone once told me about being able to download a programe that allowed them to play old Nintendo games on their computer, then was able to download loads of old games from the net somewhere. I was wondering, if this were true, if there was a way of being able to download and play any of the Nintendo DS games on my laptop? Does anyone have any information about this?

Is it really worth it to buy into time share? Considering all the fees and payments, even becoming a member of RCI, is it worth all the money to buy into timeshare?
Some deals have you purchase a deed for a week or more at one resort. You own it and can use it, sell it, gift it, or put it in your will for your children or whoever. Is it a scheme or is it actually worth it?

A lot of times it is not worth it. Though today they have better programs than in the past. Research it very well before buying. If you know others who own one, ask them about their time share and if they recommend the company they bought their’s from. Do a google search on the company you’re looking at to see if others have posted any complaints or compliments about the them.

Have been told by many people not to go to an antique dealer for appraisal because the items will be given low values in hopes that I would sell the china & Fostoria glassware sets to the dealer for a small portion of their value. Maybe you can find an appraiser from Antiques Roadshow. They seem reputable. Here is the list of appraisers. On the right, you can click Pottery & Porcelain Appraisers. Then, see if one of them is near you, or wait until the Roadshow comes to a city near you.

They also have every appraisal video archived. So you could search porcelain, or if you could give more detail like English Porcelain or a manufacturer, then it may help you get an idea of the value. They have other useful resources on the website also.

just go to the hardware store and buy replacement Weller parts.
Cooper Tools sells replacement nuts already attached to a solder tip.
Across the flats is 3/8″
